Hi everyone,
Nicola here sharing my first layout from the March 2026 Scrapaholix Kits, which are based around Graphic 45's Journaling Through Time collection. The blog post walking you through the contents of both the main and add-on kits can be found
here.
As the kit walk-through post says, "busy patterns, but great for cutting up", so that's just what I did. I cut a strip out of the painted pink squares side of the May & June patterned paper from the main kit - I cut it 2 squares wide, following the outlines of those columns of squares to give purposely higgledy-piggledy edges rather straight lines. I then distressed the edges of this strip and adhered it vertically down the middle of the sheet of white cardstock from the main kit. Next, I cut two 1-inch strips from the Layout patterned paper from the add-on kit and distressed the edges of these, and then tucked one each side of my painted squares strip with the side that looks like old browned paper facing up.
I stuck my landscape 6x4 photo in the centre of my layout, sitting across the middle of that vertical strip I've created, and then began building some ephemera clusters around the top left and bottom right corners of my photo. You get a small selection of Journaling Through Time die-cuts in the main kit (designs vary), from which I pulled the cupcake, butterfly, long-stemmed flower, and pink flower. However, I wanted even more in my clusters, so I also picked out some complimenting extras from Uniquely Creative's Dressed In Daydreams, which works quite well with the distressed/aged pink tones in the Graphic 45 collection. I fussy cut the clock face, the little macaron, the bird, and one of the pink-tinged daisy heads out of the Dressed in Daydreams - Little Curiosities cut-apart paper (available in the store, linked below). Then, I also pulled a few additional flowers and leaves from the Dressed In Daydreams vellum creative cuts pack (also linked below).

Now, I was ready to put my ephemera clusters together. For the bottom right cluster, I simply found the placements I was happy with and stuck them down, with the butterfly and cupcake raised on foam. The little phrase piece ("simple pleasures are priceless treasures") came from a Bramble Fox paper snips sheet I had in my stash - it was white and looked a bit too stark, so I inked over it with the 49 and Market Cappuccino ink (linked in the supply list below) to give it a more aged look that went better with the vibe of the ephemera.

For the top left cluster, I stuck the vellum flowers to some scraps of white cardstock and then fussy cut round them so that you can't see through where they overlap (the leaves went on as they are as they're both on the bottom layer of the cluster anyway). Because the Journaling Through Time pink flower die-cut was the only flower in that cluster with a border, I trimmed this off so it didn't stand apart from the other flowers. The flowers are all tucked behind the photo, while the macaron and the bird sit on top (with the bird raised on foam).
For my title strip "Mother's Day 2025", obviously that's a bit too specific to find it in any ephemera or sticker sets, so I simply printed it on to some white card using our inkjet printer, cut it out, and then again inked over it using the 49 and Market Cappuccino ink. This too is then raised on foam to finish off the layout.
I hope this has given you some inspiration for the March 2026 kits and I look forward to bringing you more layouts very soon. In the meantime, there's lots of crafty inspiration available on the
Scrapaholix and The
Mad Scrapper blogs, so do pop over and take a look.
Happy crafting! x
