Happy Day by ELAINE KING

Happy Day by ELAINE KING

First, I took the Whirlpool cardstock and gutted a 10 in square from the centre. I then cut an 8 inch circle from the gutted piece of card. I next took the sheet of typeset paper and cut a 7 & 1/2 inch circle from that. I then inked the edges of both circles and then distressed them using the Tim Holtz edge distreser tool.
Next, I took three colours of Tim Holtz distress Ink, in Weathered Wood, Unchartered Mariner, and Tattered Rose and used the packaging technique to create diagonal patches from top left to bottom right on the white Coconut Swirl card that I had cut to an 11” square.
I then matted the 11” white card into the Whirlpool frame I had created.
Using a piece of Vicki Boutin Print Shop, Floral Display, I then fussy cut lots of black and white flowers from this and the Flourish paper from the same collection. (Although these don’t come in your kit, they are still available in the shop).
I layered clusters to the bottom right and top left corner of the photo and tucked in some scraps from the cut apart sheet, a branding strip and a circular piece of ephemera along with the butterfly.
To finish, I added the title around the outside edge of the larger circle, and added heart-shaped enamel hearts and puffy stickers from my own stash.
