Focus on the Good by ELAINE KING

Focus on the Good by ELAINE KING

Using the circles paper from the kit I cut several circles and then distressed the edges. I also fussy cut the ‘Focus on the Good’ section of the cut apart sheet. I then arranged the circles on a piece of A4 white card. I lightly drew around sections of the circles to give me an idea where I wanted my mixed media inked parts. I then used Tim Holtz Fossilized Amber, Salvaged Patina, Uncharted Mariner and Worn Lipstick to create an edge to where the coordinating circles would be added. I smooshed the ink pads onto a glass mat and sprayed water to get the right painterly consistency.  I used heavy splattering too.
Once it was thoroughly dry, I added the circles to the inked background adding foam pads to raise a couple. I then added fussy cut flowers from Vicki Boutin's Print Shop, Floral Display paper to add to the clusters. After adding my photo, I punched several flowers from the centres of a branding strip and used a hole punch to make my own ‘enamel dots’. I placed the punched circles on a piece of acetate and added Glossy Accents glue until completely dry. I then used these to scatter around the finished clusters of flowers and my photo.
To finish I added the large circular Be Happy and Smile sticker from the kit.
