Discover + Create by KERRY MCINALLY

I began by matting a 4 x 6 portrait photo on the craft card stock and distressing the edges.

Next I used three of the 4x6 journalling cards - I cut out the ruler, pencil, bulldog clip and book page, but kept the pieces that I had trimmed. I used the coconut swirl cardstock for my background.

I placed my photo and additional pieces where I wanted them roughly and drew round the outline with a pencil, I moved these pieces to one side and then using a stencil from the discover and create stencil packs, from my own stash, and a distress oxide in Blueprint Sketch, I stencilled around the edge of my design.

I then began to layer my pieces, using the leftovers from the 4x6 journalling cards.  I raised my photo onto foam and did the same with the ruler piece, eraser and pencil sharpener. I used half of one of the frames provided to the right of my photo. I punched holes in a grid journalling card and then thread through some green twine to add some more interest.

I used the foam, ‘you do you’ tab at the top of my photo and then for my title used Discover and Create.  I finished the layout by scattering some good foam circles and placed the words ‘facts’ from the foam sheet so I can add some journalling later.
