Hi everyone,
Nicola here sharing my first layout using the June 2026 Scrapaholix Kits, which are based around the Memoir range from Maja Design. The blog post walking you through the contents of both the main and add-on kits can be found
here.
I started by punching some 5-cm (approx. 2-inch) hexagons from the My Life (main kit), Humorous, and Poetic (both add-on kit) papers - 6 hexagons from each paper so that I could use 3 of each patterned side. I used a Fiskars squeeze punch to cut my hexagons, but you could just as easily use a die or even just a template hexagon you can draw around and then cut out the shape. I distressed the edges of all my hexagons and then stuck them down on my Bazzill White cardstock base (you get one sheet in the main kit) in a honeycomb formation, leaving a gap where I knew my photo was going to go (waste not, want not).
I double-backed my 6x4 photo on first the Bazzill Lagoon and then the Uniquely Creative Coral cardstocks (both main kit) and stuck it down over the gap in my hexagons. I only applied adhesive to the centre so that I could still lift the edges up to tuck things behind it.
Then, I cut some strips off of the brown gingham and white ricrac trim pieces (you get a total of 24 inches in the add-on kit; you may get some of each or a long piece of one) and made little triangular banner cut-outs on the ends of the brown gingham piece. I cut the brown gingham strip into 2 pieces and placed one either side of my photo (about two thirds of the way down) so that it looks like it runs all the way behind, but without actually losing any beneath the photo. The white ricrac is just on the righthand side of the photo, sitting on top of the lower edge of the brown gingham (I did think about following it through on the left as well, but it didn't quite look right when I tried it, so I just left it off).
I clustered a flower, leaf, and burlap butterfly (all from the add-on kit) at the point where the trim tucks behind the righthand side of my photo.
Next, I inked up one of the Irresistibles die cut border pieces (you get an assortment in the main kit, equivalent of a fifth of a full pack) using the Cappuccino ink from 49 and Market and tucked it behind the left vertical edge of my photo (I trimmed it slightly to match the length of my photo).
Then I clustered another flower and burlap butterfly together with a Bramble Fox banner piece (reads "Time with Nature") around the top left corner of my photo, and finally I finished the layout off with a Bramble Fox title "The Great Outdoors" placed on the white space in the top right of the page.
I hope this has given you some inspiration for the June 2026 kits and I look forward to bringing you more layouts very soon. In the meantime, there's lots of crafty inspiration available on the
Mad Scrapper blog, so do pop over and take a look.
Happy crafting! x
