Take Note by KAREN MOSS

Do you ever make a layout before even deciding on the photograph? It's something I often do and this is one of those - I decided that I wanted to make a grid style layout to showcase the ephemera I had and was delighted with the result. I then had to find the perfect photo, which I think I have :0)

I started with a piece of Uniquely Creative's Tea and Tranquility Relaxation paper, which I trimmed to 11 1/2" square and I then cut four 3" square apertures. After adding this to a piece of Afternoon Breeze paper, two 4" squares of vellum were placed at the top left and bottom right aperture. I then stitched a 1/2" border around the page and a 1/4" border around the apertures.

The top right and bottom left squares were filled with ephemera from the Tea and Tranquility Creative Cuts and Mintay's Shabby Chic Art Journal Ephemera Pack. I also used these to add a cluster at the bottom of my page and for the cherub at the top.

Finally, I chose my photo. The acrylic title was from my own supplies.
