Fun Times by NICOLA CAMPBELL

Fun Times by NICOLA CAMPBELL

Hi everyone,
Nicola here sharing my first layout using the July 2026 Scrapaholix Kits, which are based around Bea Valint's Smiles For Miles collection. The blog post walking you through the contents of both the main and add-on kits can be found here.
I used the Bazzill White cardstock from the main kit as my base and stencilled a background pattern (I used a Bramble Fox stencil from my stash) in 2 colours (49 and Market Pink Sands on top and Distress Oxide Speckled Egg below; both linked in the supplies list at the end) a little to the left of centre horizontally.
I tore a strip from both the Powder Blue and the Cream Bazzill cardstocks (both main kit) and laid them across the middle of my layout as I thought this looked a bit like sand and sea (I'm documenting a beach photo on this layout). I made sure that the pink stencilling appeared above the Cream cardstock and the blue stencilling appeared below the Powder Blue, so it was sort of tone-with-tone.

I printed my photo as a 4x4-inch square using my Canon Selphy and cut it with some extra white border at the bottom so it looked a bit like a Polaroid-style photo. Then I backed my photo on the blue side of the 3x4/Blue patterned paper (main kit) and adhered it over the torn cardstock strips, in line with where the stencilling is.
To embellish, I fussy cut some of the leaves from the Smiles For Miles acetate (you get ½ a sheet in the main kit) and tucked these behind the sides of my photo. I then fussy cut some beachy icons from Smiles For Miles Paper 5, which I had in my stash, and layered these around the acetate leaves, raising some of them on foam strips for extra dimension.
I glued a couple more acetate leaves in the top right corner of the layout so it looks kind of like they're growing down.
To finish, I cut a few phrase boxes from some Bramble Fox paper snips sheets from my stash; I added 2 over the white bottom border of my photo, and fussy cut around a third (fiddly but worth it, I think) and added it on foam strips over the acetate leaves at the top of my layout. One more stash-dive to pull out "Fun Times" from Simple Stories Going Places foam stickers for my title because I thought the bright pink colour added a nice final pop to my layout.
I hope this has given you some inspiration for the July 2026 kits and I look forward to bringing you more layouts very soon. In the meantime, there's lots of crafty inspiration available on the Mad Scrapper blog, so do pop over and take a look.
Happy crafting! x
