In The Frame - mixed media canvas by LORI WOODS

Hello creative friends! My project for you today is this mixed media canvas with a very vintage style.
To create the background I used the Prima Numerals mould to cast lots of resin pieces and glued these to the canvas with heavy body gel until I was happy with how it looked. I gave everything a coat of white gesso then using the Ink Black liquid acrylic paint brushed across the top of the numerals to highlight the shape. I then used watered down Burnt Sienna liquid acrylic to create shadows and splatters on the background.
Next I took Decorative Frame #2 from The Dusty Attic and gave it a good covering of Rust paste, then glued it to the background when dry.
To create the frame elements on the canvas I used a combination of  ATC Frames #6 and Grungy Frames mould along with some vintage portraits I had in my stash. I decorated the chipboard frames with Amber Jewel Paste and Emerald Wax, and the frames from the mould with Steampunk Gilding Flakes and Mint Sparkle and Emerald wax. Because the background of the canvas is quite bold and there's more than one focal element with the multiple frames, I decided not to add any additional embellishments to avoid the project looking too busy.
I hope this gives you some inspiration and ideas for your 2022 crafting! :)
