"Blue Note". A jazz lovers birthday card. By Louise Crosbie.

"Blue Note". A jazz lovers birthday card. By Louise Crosbie.

I have a very quick and easy project for you today.
A simple cut out, matt and layer birthday card featuring the "Blue Note" papers by Ciao Bella.

My husband plays saxophone and he and his friend love going to gigs to watch blues and/or jazz artists play.
He learned his love of jazz from my son.
So as soon as I saw these papers, I knew they were ideal for at least three men I know and it is often hard finding papers etc that suit male family and friends. Needless to say, I bought them.
It was my husband's friend's birthday recently so my husband asked if I could make a card.
I used a black card with a white insert to make this. and I used more black card as backing for the sections I cut out of the papers. Then it was just a lot of matting and layering.

When it was done it was very neat and clean. That made me super uncomfortable lol. Those of you who know me will know I like a bit of grunge going on. So, I used some distress oxides to add a few colourful patches of grunge.

It was a nice easy make but my husband's friend was really happy with is and has declared he is keeping it forever. (Easy pleased 😉 ).
Now I have my eye on the Ciao Bella Collateral Rust collection.
thanks for stopping buy.

Supply list:

Ciao Bella: Blue note 12 x 12 12 Pkg papers.
Ciao Bella: Blue note 12x12 8 Pkg Papers
Ranger Distress oxides: Spiced marmalade and Faded Jeans.
