Bits & Pieces mixed media canvas by LORI WOODS

Hello creative friends! Today I have a mixed media project for you that was created from random bits and pieces lying on my desk from previous projects!

I started by placing the embellishments on the background until I was happy with the composition and then glued everything down with Heavy Body Gel. I gave everything a couple of coats of white gesso and then picked a few different colours of liquid acrylics to play with. Once I had a nice range of colours over the various elements, I did a few dry brush coats of white gesso to tie everything together.

I then picked different areas of the composition to highlight using the new jewel pastes and glitters from Finnabair's latest release.

This ended up being a really fun project as I had no real plan for it and just decided to see what happened when I simply had a play around with the different elements and media for fun :)
