Join us for a truly inspiring creative weekend on the 5th & 6th of September, where imagination and artistry come together in a special mixed media and scrapbooking workshop experience.
We’re delighted to welcome three incredible artists — Finnabair, Nuneka, and Olga — each bringing their own unique style, techniques, and creative energy. Across the weekend, you’ll create four distinct projects, exploring layers, textures, and artistic storytelling in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Whether you’re looking to learn new skills, experiment with different materials, or simply immerse yourself in creativity alongside fellow makers, this workshop promises to be a memorable and enriching experience.
We'll have 4 Classes through out the Weekend:
Class 1
“Night Dreaming” – celestial wooden box with metallic effects and texture - By Finnabair
Would you like to create a unique keepsake box while exploring a range of mixed-media techniques that can be used on many future home décor projects?
In “Night Dreaming”, we’ll transform a simple wooden box into a striking decorative piece inspired by the mystery and beauty of the night sky. Combining the rich patterns of Prima Marketing Decoupage Fiber Paper with metallic effects and dimensional details, we will create a project full of depth, texture, and luminous highlights.
Working step by step, we’ll go through the entire process of decorating the box, starting with building interesting surfaces with stencils and Finnabair Effect Pastes. We’ll focus on creating a cohesive colour palette inspired by the paper design, using a beautiful selection of Art Alchemy Metallique Waxes as our main colouring medium.
This class is a wonderful opportunity to explore painting and waxing techniques while creating an object that is not only decorative but also useful. The finished box makes a beautiful gift, a special place for treasured keepsakes, or a practical storage piece that can be enjoyed for years to come.
Perfect for anyone who enjoys working with colour, metallic effects, and dimensional compositions, this project combines creative freedom with practical skills and product knowledge. The techniques presented can easily be adapted to other boxes, home décor items, and mixed-media projects.
Suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced mixed-media artists.
Class time: about 4 hours.Class 2
“FML Laout” – By Nunneka
Create a beautiful mixed media scrapbook layout in Nunneka's signature style, combining soft colours, subtle texture, and elegant metallic accents.
During this workshop you'll transform a 12x12 scrapbook page using a variety of mixed media techniques. We'll build layers with clear gesso, add shimmering dimension with metallic flexible paste, and create delicate colour effects using Lindy's Magicals or sprays in soft, dreamy shades. You'll learn how to incorporate texture and embellishments using gloss gel and adhesive mediums, resulting in a richly layered layout that highlights your favourite photo while maintaining a light and sophisticated vintage feel.
Perfect for scrapbookers who want to explore mixed media techniques in a relaxed and creative way, this project focuses on texture, colour blending, and dimensional design while remaining photo-friendly and easy to personalise.
Class 3
“Steampunk Dreams” – dimensional mixed-media collage with steampunk twist - By Finnabair
Do you love the charm of vintage treasures, mechanical details, and layered compositions filled with personality? Would you like to learn how to transform a collection of seemingly unrelated elements into one cohesive and eye-catching piece?
In “Steampunk Dreams”, we’ll create a richly detailed mixed-media collage inspired by the magical world of steampunk. Working step by step, we will build a dimensional composition using a variety of elements, including resin casts, chipboards, printed images, found objects, and embellishments. This project is all about discovering how different materials can work together to tell a story and create depth, texture, and visual interest.
I will guide you through the process of planning and building a balanced composition, creating layered details, and adding texture without overwhelming the project. We’ll also focus on developing a cohesive colour palette inspired by beautiful Prima Marketing Decoupage Fiber Papers, Liquid Acrylic Paints and Finnabair Waxes - with several colour options available so you can personalise your project and make it truly your own!
There is plenty of room for creative freedom in this class. The techniques and ideas can easily be adapted to materials you already have at home, making this a wonderful opportunity to explore your creativity while learning practical mixed-media skills. This class is suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced mixed-media artists. The techniques, composition principles, and layering methods you learn can be applied to many future projects, helping you build both confidence and creative possibilities.
