The Big Bake Off by KERRY MCINALLY

I absolutely love Cocoa Vanilla studio products the colours are always so pretty.  The Storyteller pieces in the May kit are so lovely, and the patterned papers can be used as additional ephemera too.
For my first layout I scrapped 3x4 photos of my son and daughter after they had made scones at home.  The colours in my daughters dress matched the kit perfectly.
I started by cutting down the white cardstock to approximately 11.5 inches square.  I then cut a strip of the Spring Fling paper to 4 inches wide.  I then used circle templates from my own stash in 8,9 and 10inches and pricked out evening spaced dots using a needle.  I then picked out three colours of thread, again from my own stash that I thought would compliment the colours in the collection.
My sewing skills are practically none existent but I can just about manage a running stitch, and so I sewed a running stitch through the holes to make three stitched circles.  I didn’t stitch beneath the blue vertical strip.
I then used a piece of blue Ric rac ribbon, available from The Mad Scrapper, along the edges of the Spring Fling paper.
I backed my two photos with a little of the Little Love paper and then stuck them to the page at a slight angle using some foam tape.
Next I cut out a few butterflies from the Fly Away paper and again using some foam stuck them around the stitched circles.
I continued to embellish with some tiny heart puffy stickers from the kit.  I added two banners from the sticker sheet to the top left hand corner and some word phrases above and below my photos.  I then used the black alphas to make my title.
I finished the layout by mounting the white card onto the twilight cardstock.

Another lovely layout. I’m a huge fan of stitching on my projects so I love that bit x
