Hi everyone,
Nicola here sharing my next layout from the January 2026 Scrapaholix Kits, which are based around Uniquely Creative's Written In The Stars collection. The blog post walking through what you get in the main and add-on kits can be found
here.
I started with the white cardstock from the main kit and splattered it with watered down Distress Oxide Mustard Seed for my background.
I cut some diamond shapes (4cm wide, 6cm tall) from the Glow patterned paper from the main kit, some from both sides, and some from the checked side of the Star Dust patterned paper, which I bought as an extra (linked below).
I then backed these diamonds on the 3 Bazzill coloured cardstocks from the main kit to give them little coloured borders.
I used the white Sticko foam alphas from the add-on kit for my title, but I wanted them to be a different colour to stand out more against the white cardstock, so I stuck the letters I needed to a plastic bag first and coloured them in with an orange brush pen (if you're going to re-colour these alphas, be prepared to be patient as it did take a long time for my colour to soak in).
While my alphas were to one side drying, I stuck down my patterned diamonds in a band down the middle of my splattered white cardstock - there was no particular pattern as such, I just made sure there weren't two the same next to each other.
I matted my photo on the Pineapple Bliss cardstock (main kit) and placed it slightly right of centre on my background, just on the righthand side of my diamond band.
Then it was time for some fussy cutting - I cut some of the flowers and leaves from the Star Shine patterned paper (add-on kit) and some of the round gem things and the "photographed" phrase box from the cut-apart side of the Superstar paper (main kit). I clustered these fussy cut pieces around my photo, raising a few bits on foam strips.
When my alphas were dry (mostly dry anyway, I ran out of patience as I wanted to finish the layout before the good daylight disappeared), I stuck down my title to finish things off.
