Snow Beautiful by CHARLEEN WALES

This is my 2nd page using the December Winter kit. I absolutely love this kit and had to force myself to cut into it.
I was very adventurous with this page...
I started by choosing my background page, the Winter Snow pattern paper B-side from the Add-on kit. I have always wanted to make a snow globe shaker but not having a cutting machine stopped me. I was determined to make one for this page. I looked up snow globe options on clipart, found the one I liked, and printed it off. It was trial and error in the beginning to get the right size. I then made a template with it. My circular cutter came in handy.
I cut my snow globe from the Winter Snow pattern paper A-side from the Add-on kit. (I loved this kit so much that I bought an extra kit from The Mad Scrapper). I also cut a circle from the vellum for the top of my "shaker pocket".
For the first time, I used the Finnabair snowflake paste from The Mad Scrapper. I put it through a Vicki Boutin stencil using a pallet knife. I had no idea what to expect as I didn't do any research beforehand.
It has the weirdest gritty texture, but it is so pretty.
The photos don't do it justice. When you first apply it it is very white and opaque but as it dries it becomes slightly translucent, especially when it is applied thinner, with beautiful glitter sparkles in it.
While waiting for the snowflake paste to dry I worked on my snowglobe. I did not have any continuous thin sticky back foam so I used my A5 sheets and cut it up into little strips which I adhered to the underneath side of the cut-out snowglobe. I then stuck the vellum on and again applied another layer of sticky back foam strips. Before sticking the snowglobe onto my background paper I stuck some sequins, which are from my stash, down permanently. I then stuck down the snowglobe and left a little opening to fill it with some more loose sequins to make my shaker and then sealed the little opening.
I backed my photo with some white tissue paper from my stash.
I used some of the ephemera, The Magic of Winter Frame and Tags from the Main kit and the strip of clear rhinestones, which is from the Add-on kit.

I love the snow globe and I love the snowflakes too. It gives great texture to your page. X
