As usual Maja Design papers do not disappoint. Their ranges are always fabulous and Miles Apart is no exception. As my photo had lots of blues, I also used another sheet from the range (Keeping Busy).

I started by painting all my chipboard pieces, the title, and the back of the large frame with white gesso. When the frame was dry, I applied texture paste through the Starry Night Stencil. The Leafy Flourish and heart I painted with White Pearl, the title with Hazelnut and the frame, once the texture paste was dry, with a mixture of Ice Queen and Magical Pond. I then gently added Old Silver and Vintage Gold wax over the painted frame. I then applied Rose Gold to the edges of the frame and the heart. Once the Leafy Flourish was dry, I applied a coat of crackle varnish.

My base cardstock is a sheet of Bark layered with the reverse side of A Few Words cut to 11¾” x 11¾”. I cut 3 distorted squares 10½” square with a centre opening of 7½” square from Bark, Have Faith and Keeping Busy. I distressed the edges of all 3 distorted squares and the piece of A Few Words and inked all the edges of the papers and cardstock with vintage photo. I then layered the 3 distorted squares on top of A Few Words off setting each one. I applied strips of chipboard to the back of The Keeping Busy and Have faith squares to give them dimension. I then attached the frame putting the left-hand corner behind the Have Faith square and the top two corners on top. I brought the level of the frame up by adding chipboard to the back. I then added the leafy flourish, heart, title, and flowers to the layout.

I love this photo of my Mum and unfortunately, we are Miles Apart. Not sure when I will get to see her, Dad, and the rest of the family again so it is great to be able to scrap reminders of good times.

Such an interesting layout with lots of detail and embellishing. It really showcases the photo inside.
