Our Happy Place by CHARLEEN WALES

Our Happy Place by CHARLEEN WALES

Some of the best memories are made at home
If I have photos from the same day / same occasion I like to use the same collections to document that experience or occasion. I don't make double pages, although I like my pages to be from the same collection, I like my pages to be independent of each other but ideally have the same look and feel so that you can see that they are part of the same occasion/day etc.
So my 2nd page using the gorgeous April Kit is still documenting pictures of our first home.
I wanted my 1st page and my 2nd page to complement each other.
For my background, I have used white cardstock and the leftover middle piece of the Garden Guru pattern paper from the Main kit, that I had cut out from my first page.
I backed my photos in the same way that I did for my first page using the vellum and one of the green cardstock papers from the Main kit. I also distressed the edges of my background and the Garden Guru pattern paper. I cut the 'Our Happy Place' from the Multi journaling cards pattern paper, which is from the Main kit as my title for my page. I backed the 'Our Happy Place' title with the Bazzill Coral Cream cardstock from the Main kit to bring through the Coral colour in my page.
I wanted to use the same flower clusters that I used on my 1st page so I had to do a bit more fussy cutting.
I used these florals to build embellishment clusters on my page.
I used some of the chipboard phrases from the Main kit to add detail to my page.
I backed a few of the elements as well as my photos with sticky back foam, I also left some of the components of the florals unstuck to create dimension and interest on the page.
Hope you've enjoyed reading how this page came together as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Happy Scrapping x
