Mini Journal by SHARON NETTLESHIP

Mini Journal by SHARON NETTLESHIP

This month's kit and add on just said to me mini journal for all those pics I take when going out for Autumnal walks. The colours will go well with all the photos colours of Autumn.
I have a die that cuts out a mini journal for me but it would be so easy to make out of greyboard or even a cereal box. I covered it in black gesso to start with. I cut out panels for the front and back using the lovely leaf paper. I inked lightly around the edges with black ink and added some rub on stitching. I cut out some of the stickers from the kit and inked them too. I then adhered the panels to the gessoed journal.
To make the central band I cut a piece of hessian and applied some texture paste randomly over it. When this was dry I added some gold wax with my finger. I inked the chipboard leaves and stamped some text onto them with black ink. I adhered them to the hessian and then added a length of the olive ric rac from the add on kit. I didn't adhere it to the journal yet, I waited until I had completed the inside of the cover.
I kept it simple for the inside cover but I may add some pockets later if I have extra photos. I cut out more panels and adhered them using a corner rounder for the edges. I used my cropadile to punch two holes into the spine .
For the outer spine I have used a chipboard quote and inked it and added a little gold wax.
I cut the different papers in different sizes to make the pages and added tabs.
I then did the fun bit. I made lots of tags, pockets, journalling places and layered card to fit photos and journalling. I used most pieces of the paper, card and stickers to do this but I did add some more rub on stitches, stencilling and notepaper.
Now I just need to add all the photos and journalling and I'll have a lovely little keepsake.
