Life is Sweet by ELAINE KING

First take your white cardstock and using the Vicki Boutin Print Shop stencil, make two clusters to the top right and bottom left of the card. I used Fossilised Amber Distress Oxide and a LIGHT brushing of Black Soot Distress Oxide over the top. I then used the Uniquely Creative Vintage Script acrylic stamp and a flower stamp from my own stash to create interest followed by a gentle splattering of the yellow oxide. Leave aside to dry.

Next cut the three 4” squares from the Daisy May paper. Set this to one side.

Flip the paper over and tear a strip of the blue daisies approx 2” wide. Adhere this in the centre with the torn edge to the left, leaving as much as possible of the mixed media panels showing.

Tear a similar sized strip of the black floral side of the Field of Flowers paper. Stick this over the first strip.

Finally tear another strip of the Welcome Plaid paper, using the dotty side, with the torn edge to the left and the straight edge to the right hand side.

You now have your base. Cut this down to 11.5” square.

Take the black cardstock and gut the centre leaving a 1” frame.

Next use the gutted black panel to create a strip of cardstock approx 1” wide and add this to the straight edge tucking it in to leave 1/2” visible. (There will be a join in this but it will be under your photo so don’t worry).

Take your photo and cut it to approx 3.5” x 5” and mount it on the African Daisy cardstock.

Tear two edges of the check side of the Welcome Plaid paper and add this behind the photo with the two torn edges peeking out. Add this to the bottom right of the central panel on foam tape to raise it up.

Fussy cut the ‘Life is Sweet’ panel from the Daisy May paper and add it to the bottom right of your photo. Journal on here if preferred and also mount on foam tape to the bottom right corners to match the photo depth.

I then added Yellow flowers from Green Tara and yellow sequins from my own stash and added a glass bead from the kit to the centre of each sequin. I finished off with some saying stickers from the kit.
