LAST CHRISTMAS - Double Layout

LAST CHRISTMAS - Double Layout

Lovely deep red tones in the Christmas Kit from Janine this month.  The name of the photoplay paper – CHRISTMAS CHEER, reminded me of last Christmas when a bunch of lads descended into our house, all excited and happy, looking forward to their night ahead at the High School Christmas Party.  Unknown to us all, this would be the last time these S6 pupils would be celebrating together.  3 months later after all the hard work studying for exams, planning the leavers doo, planning their holiday abroad after prom, lockdown cancelled everything for these kids.  I am happy to be able to document this last happy event these guys had together…. And yes…these lads know how to party!

For this double layout I cut:

Base:                   2 of Bazzill - Raven 12”x 12”

Matting:               Ho Ho Ho - 2 sheets cut to 8” x 12” (Tartan side used)

Cut off pieces using the reverse side (Ho Ho Ho s) cut 2”x12”

Silent Night – 2 sheets cut to 8”x10” (Snowflake side used)

Letter to Santa – 2 pieces cut to 1”x12” (Postal stamp side)

Cut off piece from the reverse side 1 piece cut to 2”x3” (Music side used)

Photo Matting:  Top layer – Bazzill Pomegranate

                          Bottom layer – Bazzill Shadow

Journaling:          Bazzill Natural

I placed both sheets of Raven side by side for my base layer.   Starting with the 2 pieces of “Letter to Santa” cut 1”x12”, using Ranger Archival Ink – Black, I inked around 3 sides of the paper, leaving the joining pieces untouched.  I placed these pieces in the middle of the join on the base.  Next, I added the “Ho Ho Ho” tartan side up cut to 8”x12” next to the “Letter to Santa” strips.  The 2 cut off strips I used the reverse side showing the “Ho Ho Ho” cut 2”x12”, again I inked these all round.  I then placed one of each next to the tartan paper on each side of the layout.  To finish of the matting, I used the “Silent Night” paper cut 8”x10” snowflake side and placed this on top of the tartan paper.

On this layout I chose 3 photos cut to 5 3/8” x 3 7/8” and a post card film strip cut to 5 5/8” x 1 1.4”

On the left side of my layout, I placed two landscape photographs matted on Shadow – cut 6 ¼” x 8 x  ½” on the bottom layer and for the top I used Pomegranate cut 6” x 8 1/8”.  I placed my photos centrally on the “silent night” section.

On the right hand side, I placed the film strip on top of matting cut - bottom layer Shadow cut 1 6/8” x 6 1/8” and the top layer of Pomegranate cut 5 7/8” x 1 ½” I placed this top centre, under I placed my landscape photo matting cut Shadow 5 7/8” x 4 3/8” Pomegranate cut 5 5/8” x 4 x 1/8”. This is placed centrally under the film strip.

For my embellishments, I used Dusty Attic chippy – At the top of the layout I added DA Tinsel Beading.  I coloured this with the metallic White Pearl paint.  I placed around 4 pieces across the top of the layout.  DA Baubles #4 – please have a look online at the DA Christmas range, the baubles are so pretty.

I chose bauble #4 as it has a snowflake design which I thought went well with the snowflake design on the silent night paper.  I coloured the bauble stem using Sparks Black Raven paint, the bauble I coloured with White Pearl metallic paint.  Once dried, I covered with 3d gloss gel and added some Deco Art Glamour Dust.

This glitter is amazing.  It is so fine and very very pretty.  My pictures of it sparkling do it no justice!  I placed these baubles against the tinsel beading.

Down the left had side of my layout I added the gold frame provided with the kit, I slipped a piece of the music side “Letter to Santa” paper cut 2”x3”, then added some lettering from the Doodlebug Alpha Stickers also provided in the kit.

The Pine Branches, (these are so beautiful made with fine thread), I added to a photo on each page along with some pinecones from my stash.

For my journaling I used pieces of the Natural Bazzill paper, cut down into wee strips and inked in black, placed on the right hand side of my landscape photo.  I then placed paper poinsettias around my tinsel beading and around the pages.

For my Title - I cut strips of Smoke Bazzill, inked all around with black ink and used wooden black letters on from my stash.  I placed the title in the middle of my layout between the photos.

Happy that my layout turned out manly even though I added lots of glitter!
