Happiness is... by CHARLEEN WALES

This is generally a stressful time of year for me, this year particularly but without going into the details of that, I really struggle with coming to terms with the fact that summer is over, it's back to work and back to school and I have two very important birthdays. So it's a lot to deal with.
But what gets me through it all is the thought of beautiful Autumn. I love the colours of Autumn and the crisp blue skies. This month's kit was perfect to get me into the Autumnal mood.
I started off by selecting my background, I was brave again and did not default to my standard white but chose to go with the Walnut Cream Bazzill Cardstock from the Main Kit, I think it gives a nice warm feeling to the layout.
I love the Let Grow Get Out pattern paper in the Main Kit, the cut apart side, I liked the idea of frames and the squares in the middle so I cut it all up.
I then roughly played around with the layout, getting a feel for where I wanted things and marked it out lightly with a pencil. I liked the look of the frames and squares and wanted to add some stitching. I used my ruler and pokey tool and marked out squares. I then sewed them by hand using embroidery thread.
The next task was a little bit of a struggle, getting things back to where I had originally planned and not veering off task too much. This is generally the stage where I land up creating a page that does not look anything like what I had originally planned but this time it is pretty close.
I stuck down the frames first to get my spacing and alignment the way I wanted it.
I backed the frames as well as the squares and photos with sticky back foam, from my stash, to create dimension on my page.
I just love the yellow Simple Stories Alpha stickers in the Add-on kit but they were a bit big to fit into the space I had left for a title. I had my heart set on using yellow for my title so I used the smaller-sized Simple Stories Alpha stickers from my stash which are also available from The Mad Scrapper.
Oh and those little puffy hearts in the Add-On kit, you just can't have enough of those.
