Grateful by KERRY MCINALLY

For the layout I used a 5 x 8 photo which I had backed onto some white card stock, followed by some of the blue card stock provided in the kit.
I really liked the wood grain on the Be Free patterned paper but decided to save the floral edges for something else, so I tore the floral pattern from the two sides. I distressed the edges of the remaining wood grain and layering it with some scraps of the Grateful paper I adhered it to the Twill card stock.

I placed my photo in the middle of the background and set about embellishing it. The first thing I like was the large "grateful" title from the Grateful paper, which I added across the bottom of my photo. I also liked the ‘one fine day’ journalling card from the ‘One Fine Day’, paper.  I added the title to the top right and tucked the lined section under the bottom left of the photo.  I used the good life cut apart but removed the frame and used these above and below the photo to add interest.

I added some scalloped border pieces provided in the kit and further word phrases.
I created a banner cluster for the top corner and added some stitching onto the button using cotton from my stash.

I added additional embellishments around my photo from the ephemera provided but also from the cut apart elements, of which there are so many in this kit.
