FORTH BRIDGES by Jackie Burton

FORTH BRIDGES by Jackie Burton

Forth Bridges

I loved the papers this month as they were quite masculine and I don’t have many female pictures. The papers are from the Manly range by Authentique. In the end I decided not to scrap any male photos but the bridges over the Forth.

I used two sheets of smoky as my base. I then cut two pieces of ’Manly Three’ to 5¾” x 11¾”, two pieces of ‘Manly Five’ to 5¾” x 11¾”, two pieces of ‘Manly Two’ 3” x 11¾”. I attached the Manly Three and Manly Five to the smoky cardstock so that they lined up with right edge on the left-hand page and the left edge on right-hand page leaving a ¼” border on the other three sides. I then placed the Manly Two pieces centred on top of the Manly Three and Manly Five.

I then cut four borders from Manly Six and attached these to the top and bottom of the Manly two Pieces.

I used four 6” x 3⅜” photos. I created two photo mats from dusk cardstock measuring 6¼” x 7¼” and placed two photos on each leaving ⅛” border all round and ⅛” between the photos. I then layered these on to two pieces of pomegranate cardstock measuring 6⅜” x 7⅜” giving a 1/16” border all round. I then centred these top and bottom on both pages and ½” from right edge on left hand page and ½” from left edge on right hand page.

For the embellishments I prepped them all with white gesso and then painted the lighthouse mini seagulls and mini seagulls 2 with Alabaster and the seagrass small, seagrass 2, grass clusters 2 and mini grass clusters with Pesto and seagrass 3 with Forrest. I then used Tim Holtz stone stencil and the transparent texture paste to add a stone effect on the lighthouse. I painted the rest of the light house with Soot, Royal Red and the light with Sunny and Goldrush. I also sponged a little storm cloud on top edge of the seagulls and painted the post with Hot Chocolate. Then I unravelled a bath/shower scrunchie (new) and cut a piece off for netting and coloured this using Cattail Copper Brown starburst spray. I suggest wearing gloves when scrunching the colour into the netting as the Lindy’s sprays are highly pigmented. I then layered all the embellishments up as in the pictures. I cut a library pocket from Manly Two on my silhouette cameo and added a journaling tag with facts on the bridges. I then placed this on the right-hand page as in the photo.

The letters and sailboat I cut on my silhouette cameo and layered them up to create depth. I cut the same letters from the leather paper and placed these on top of the cardstock letters. I centred the letters in between the top edge of the Manly Three and the top of the photo mat on both pages.

Hope you like it!
