Envelope Folio Album by SHARON NETTLESHIP

Envelope Folio Album by SHARON NETTLESHIP

This month's kit by Carta Bella is stunning with beautiful papers. I thought this Folio album would really show them off .
I started off with one of the folios from a 49 & Market kit, the 4x6 envelope folio set. You get enough to make 2 folios. First off you need to score all your pieces. For this project I used the main folio, 3 tabbed pages and a flap pocket.
I covered the front of the album with the beautiful big floral page. I cut the panels a little smaller so that I'd get a white border. The folio kit includes a flap template so it was easy enough to cut around that for that piece.
I've done the same for the inside with the leaf paper.
For the flap pocket element I used some of the Lagoon card to cover the front. I then made strips for along the bottom and top using some of the patterned paper and layered it onto the Coral cream card. The kit comes with some lovely chipboard pieces and I used one of them for the flap. I also fussy cut one of the floral pieces from the floral paper and adhered that to the flap overlapping a little onto the chipboard.
I adhered the flap to the bottom piece of my album using a strong red liner tape. You can pop anything into this little flap - photos, keepsakes, journalling etc.
Now onto the tabbed pages. For the front tabbed pocket I again layered up some of the patterned paper with the coral cream card. I added some of the pieces from the journalling cards papers layered up with the same card. I then added a chipboard tag and added one of the pretty brads. I added "us" to the tab using the coral alpha stickers.
For the other two tabs I kept them simple as they are hidden behind the front tab. So I just used the Lagoon and Aqua cardstock  and again added words to the tabs.
To make up the pockets I again used red liner tape and adhered them to each other and then to the album. You can add journalling and photos to each of them. There's even enough room to add some keepsakes and as the folio has spines they will take a bit of thickness.
Here is the inside of my folio.
For the front flap I took the home is where the heart is journalling strip and layered it up with the coral card and adhered it to the top. I then took the "Together" chipboard and layered it up with the coral and lagoon card and adhered it to the middle of the flap. In the add on kit you get some lovely little mini rosebuds. I curled the stems of three of them  by winding them around a pokey tool and then sliding them off. I adhered them to the top of the chipboard piece. The folio kits come with some tiny magnets so I adhered one of them to the point of the flap and covered it with one of the brads. The other magnet I adhered to the underneath side of the folio. This makes sure your folio keeps shut whatever you put into it.
This month's kit is really pretty and with the add on kit makes a beautiful kit to make your projects. I hope I've inspired you to use yours!
