I’m really excited to be sharing my first layout as a design team member.  The March kit is beautiful and the patterns and colours make it very versatile.
First of all I matted my 4x6 photo on white cardstock and with the Blessed paper, I distressed the edges.  I cut 1 cm from each side of a 12 x 12 sheet of white cardstock and mounted it onto the gold cardstock which I had gutted.
I placed the photo roughly into the centre and marked its position with a pencil.  Then using my own Tim Holtz stencil I inked on some antique linen and scattered straw distress oxide starting with the lighter colour, I moved the stencil out slightly to extend the lines.
I removed the branding strips from three of the patterned papers, Look Up, I Am Enough and Balanced. I distressed the edges of each and then tore the strips to slightly different lengths using my photo as a guide.  I cut each side of one of the strips to make a banner.
Next I made a tag by cutting a 4 by 2.5 inch piece of the Look Up paper.  I backed this onto some of the gold cardstock to make it stand out against the white background.  I made a hole in the tag and used some wax thread to make a bow and added a gold heart from the kit.
I raised my photo on some foam and then placed the tag at an angle under the photo.
Then I used some wooden embellishments and lettering from my stash around the photo along with the tag  the foam sticker sheet from the kit and additional gold heart and dot.
Finally I outlined the inked rays with a brown gel pen, added a few sequins from my stash and some gold lace tape at the bottom of the page.

Welcome to the team. What a great layout to kick off with. Love the big sunburst and great use of the kit. X
