A letter to Santa by CHARLEEN WALES

A letter to Santa by CHARLEEN WALES

I have an album for both my children and then a family album which is for me, so I scrap my children's memories separately for them so that they both have memories of events etc in their albums. I try to make the pages different from each other and to suit their personalities.
My 1st Christmas DT project was of my son posting his letter to Santa and now this one is of my daughter posting her letter to Santa. The Christmas kit was perfect for documenting "letters to Santa" with all the stamps and letter details.
I started off my page by making an envelope using the B side of the Mail To pattern paper from the Add on kit, I used a 20x20cm square and followed a UTube tutorial which was pretty easy.
I didn't want the business of the inside of the envelope so I cut a 10x10cm square from the Bazzill Rainforest cardstock from the Main kit to place inside the envelope and cover up the busy pattern paper.
I then used some of the leftover Mail To pattern paper and fussy cut the stamps and some other elements from the Journaling Cards pattern paper, from the Main kit.
I chose to use white cardstock and added a stencilled background using Distress Oxides - Festive Berries, Rustic Wilderness and Aged Mahogany through the Tim Holtz Festive stencil. Both the Distress Oxides and the Stencil are available from The Mad Scrapper.
For the title I used a gold foam alphabet from my stash. I backed my photos using white cardstock, the Bazzill Rainforest and the Bazzill Red Rock cardstock both from the Main kit. I distressed the edges of my backed photo and some of the elements.
I created dimension on my page by using sticky back foam on the cutout stamps and little letter envelopes. I also added gold ink splatters.
The quality of my photo isn't great, I am still struggling with my printer but do hope to reprint the photos at a later stage and just replace them.
I hope you've enjoyed reading how this page came together and that it inspires you to try something different on your layouts.

Such a super layout, I just love your stenciling and the cute stamps dotted about the page.
