Steampunk Yule by LOUISE CROSBIE

Steampunk Yule by LOUISE CROSBIE

A little while ago,I shared a layout and said it was reversible. Well here is the flip side.
I am a steampunk and every Christmas/Yule, we are invited to take part in the winter festival parade in Glasgow. (That’s me in the red and my husband peeking out next to me). The sheet music is torn out of an old book of Scottish country dance music. I collect old music books just for this purpose. The older the better as it gets that nice aged yellow paper look.
Instead of the soft and muted look of the flip side, I have changed my materials and gone with metal to highlight the steampunk vibe.
I have used lots of different Finnabair items including flowers, snowflakes, foliage and cogs. As they are heavy, and I wanted to be sure they would stay attached, I used prima heavy duty gel medium as my glue. I added some frosty sparkle using glamour dust glitter. It adds sparkle but also covers up any ugly glue blotches I couldn’t clear up.
And the little strip from the bottom of the scrapbook paper that is usually cut off, had the perfect wording to use as a title.
