Steampunk altered Tin by LOUISE CROSBIE

Steampunk altered Tin by LOUISE CROSBIE

Today’s project is another altered tin.
This one has more of a steampunk vibe and uses mostly metallique waxes (with the obligatory rust paste of course)
The tin I used is a vintage ‘Harrogate Toffee’ tin. I’ve simply glued on resin shapes I cast in moulds before covering it all in black gesso.
Adding the wax brought it to life.
The handle is also a mould that I’ve had for a while. Bought it for other components in the mould and never used this particular bit. But I thought it was time to use it on something.
This tin was made for my friend so it will be a one of a kind. It’s going to be a beard and moustache grooming kit once it’s had some accessories put inside. Hopefully it will make a nice Christmas gift.
Supply list
Black gesso (smaller size available)
Rust effect paste. (I used the red rust)
Sparks acrylic paint (for the light bulbs): Ginger Magic
Stamperia Moulds
Finnabair Moulds…
