Shine Bright Layout by KAREN MOSS

Hello, Karen here with my final Cocoa Vanilla Studio layout for this month.  Again, I have used the No Limits range, this time to scrap my puppy (she is actually 2 ½ but we call her a puppy).

So this is Darcey Doodle – the most loving, stubborn, cuddly and naughtiest puppy we have ever owned and we have had dogs in our family for over 30 years!

For this layout I have used a sheet of each of these papers – Spark, Nebula and Big Bang.  As soon as I saw the Big Bang paper it shouted ‘Sew Me’ so that was my plan.  I trimmed 1 inch from the left and top of the paper and then used a Tim Holtz ruler and Tim Holtz craft pick to make my sewing holes.  I started pricking every hole but changed to alternate holes on the ruler as I didn’t want to have tiny stitches.  Originally, I drew lines to prick along but don’t think that that was necessary.

The threads I chose were a blue similar to the one used on the paper range and a yellow gold to tie in with the ephemera I wanted to use.

I gutted a 2 inch frame from a piece of Spark paper and set aside for my photo mount. Once the stitching had been completed I stuck this to the Spark frame, with the large star at the top right of my page.   The piece of paper that was gutted was cut to 4 ½ ins x 6 ½ ins and my photo was added to the top of this.

I created a cluster using elements from a Vintage Artistry Shore Ephemera Stack.

To finish I cut 4 medium stars and 5 small stars from a piece of Nebula paper and arranged the larger ones around the star on the Big Bang paper and the small ones around the circle of my ephemera cluster.  I finished off with a title from Thickers - Rainbow Phrases.

Gorgeous layout. Love your stitching ( I am a huge fan of stitching on a page too) and your puppy is adorable as well. We call ours a puppy and she’s 5!!
