Little Pieces of Me by KAREN MOSS

Little Pieces of Me by KAREN MOSS

I really love this photo of our daughter and grandson - Gracia is a mini-me and Ezzy is definately a mini version of her so they are 'Little Pieces of Me!'

I have used the Uniquely Creative - Vintage Walls range to make this layout. To begin, I cut 1/2" from the bottom and one side of the Modest Boutique paper.  Then I used a border punch on the top and bottom left of the paper and adhered this, using spray adhesive, to a piece of Vicki Boutin Black Foundation Mixed Media Card, this was to try to eliminate the paper buckling when I sprayed it with water.

I gave the paper a thin coat of gesso.  Once dried I masked off the top of the paper and used a text stencil and opaque matte texture paste.  Although I used a stencil from my own supplies there is a very similar one in the shop, I have listed this below.

I sprinkled the texture paste with Magicals powder and spritzed with some water.  In retrospect, next time, I would wait for the texture paste to dry before adding the Magicals.  Once this was dry I went over with the stencil and texture paste to make the white text 'pop' against the colours.

My photo was added behind a frame from the pack of Vintage Walls Creative Cuts and a Doily added either side  with half a doily added at the bottom.  I built up clusters using Vellum Creative Cuts, Creative Cuts, fussy cut flowers from the Cut-A-Part sheet and pieces fussy cut from The Duke's Great Room paper. Because I wanted the Vellum cuts to be less translucent so left them on their backing and used foam pads to stick them in place.
