Bee Happy by KAREN MOSS

This layout is an unusual one for me as I started with the photo and also it is very yellow, which is my least favourite colour! When I normally make a scrapbook page I choose a photo that compliments my almost completed layout, I came across this photo of our daughter whilst looking for photos for a different project and knew that the yellow background would work perfectly with 49 and Market's Sunburst range.

There is a process video here with how this page came together. I have been watching a few YouTube instruction videos about using mixed media and wanted to try some of the techniques.

I started by adding some Sunburst washi tape on either side of a piece of cardstock, from the Sunburst page 4 kit. Then using complimentary Distress Oxide inks and the packaging technique added some more colour. A Vicki Boutin stencil was used with some texture past, in patches over the page, and I then sprinkled embossing powder over this. Once I had activated the embosssing powder with a heat tool, it became 'puffy', not what I expected but I liked the effect.

I pulled out lots of yellow ephemera, flowers leaves and butterflies to cluster around the right and bottom of my photo and the bottom left of my page.

After completing the layout I have decided that yellow is not so bad after all :0)
